First Email Message

the first email marked an historic moment in the evolution of communication. Unfortunately, the message itself was less than earth shattering. The text of that first electronic missive consisted of "something like QWERTYUIOP." Sent by computer engineer Ray Tomlinson in 1971, the email was simply a test message to himself. The email was sent from one computer to another computer sitting right beside it in Cambridge, Massachusetts, but it traveled via ARPANET, a network of computers that was the precursor to the Internet.

Working for Bolt Beranek and Newman (the company picked by the U.S. Defense Department to build ARPANET), Tomlinson had been fooling around with two programs called SNDMSG and READMAIL, which allowed users to leave messages for one another on the same machine. He applied the idea behind these programs to a third program called CYPNET, which allowed users to send and receive files between computers. The combined technology allowed people to send and receive files that could be appended between different machines.

Multi-Touch Keyboard and Mouse

Multi-Touch keyboards and mice are the next generation in computer peripherals. These elegant well made devices are composed of quality tempered glass, a solid metal base, and the finest components. They are designed using simple existing technology and have no moving parts.
They have rechargeable Lithium olymer batteries and are completely wireless.

The design is based on a touch screen technology known as FTIR or Frustrated Total Internal Reflection. There are basically infrared LEDs placed at the edge of the glass. In this case, they are hidden inside holes where the glass is mounted to the metal base. Because of the low angle at which the light impacts the internal glass surface, it is bounced around inside the glass, much like looking through a tube to see the reflections on the inside walls. When the glass is touched it frustrates the reflection and the IR light is diffused downward, out of the glass, allowing the camera to see it. Software then determines the location and sends the appropriate information to your computer.

Created by Jason Giddings of Giddings Product Development, the keyboard utilizes frustrated total internal reflection (FTIR) technology to recognize key touches across its Gorilla Glass 2 surface area. Although the demo at CES was a non-working prototype, the product is definitely promising. The keyboard will come with Windows and Mac support, the ability to register multitouch gestures, and both wireless and USB connectivity.

Roll Up Laptops

A computer you can carry under your arm like a stylish, rolled-up yoga mat? Why not, says the Rolltop design company, currently in the process of obtaining partners, investors and manufacturers for its new computing innovation.
Form and function both seem to be on display with the Rolltop 2.0 concept, an improvement on earlier work by the same company and one that seems poised to take the ever-shrinking laptop market by storm. The idea here is that the Rolltop can be - you saw this coming - rolled up and carried around using a shoulder strap just as if you were on your way to the gym or were pretending to be so that everyone in the park could see how "fit" you were.
When you want to use the Rolltop, the plan is for it to simply be rolled out, each segmented section giving enough strength and with enough room for electronic components that the flattened version resembles an actual laptop. The center tube of the roll itself is then used as a charging cable dock and has an AC adapter at the top so that it can take advantage of any local outlet source of power. In addition, the "base", as it is known, contains a web camera, speaker, an Internet connection port and USB ports.
Using full touchscreen technology, the Rolltop itself is actually one large screen that can be made to function as a keyboard with monitor or as a 17" flatscreen for watching movies or as a drawing tablet.
The back of the Rolltop also features a stand to use when the fullscreen aspect of the device is being used, with the overall aim of the making the Rolltop the ultimate all-in-one laptop system.

As mentioned above, the company is currently seeking partners and investors and if they get the right people with the right money, this thing could easily take off. The size of components currently on the market means that designing a segmented laptop as described should not pose a challenge and so long as it can be made to work seamlessly as shown, the Rolltop could be a massive hit.

Windows 8 tablets are coming: Tablets for those already not buying tablets

I have been anxious to get my hands on a Surface tablet from Microsoft since the company showed it off with Windows 8. It looks sleek and with that thin keyboard cover could be a "real" PC.

Microsoft is desperate to break into the huge tablet market currently owned by Apple's iPad. The company totally changed its flagship OS solely to crack into that market, even at the risk of upsetting a lot of people. There is no doubt that the objective for Microsoft was to break into the tablet market with Windows 8.
Windows 8 will come in two flavors, full Windows 8 and a lite version (Windows RT). The former will run all the fancy new Windows tablet apps (that largely don't exist yet)
and all of the old Windows programs. The latter tablets will only run the former apps. Make sense?
Further complicating trying to figure out who might benefit from a Windows 8 tablet is the lack (or not) of a keyboard. Even those in the know have assured me that to take full advantage of a Windows 8 tablet, to get much work done at all as a matter of fact, a keyboard is required. Not recommended, required.

That tells me that even those familiar with Windows 8 don't see it as competing with real tablets like the iPad or the Android models. Those are 'consumption' devices, not 'creation' devices and the obvious purpose of a Windows 8 tablet is to do both. Which requires a keyboard. And probably full Windows, not the RT version.
Microsoft has gone all-in with a complete redesign of Windows 8 for the wrong market. Windows tablets have been around for a decade and Windows users didn't buy them. Sure Microsoft will sell some tablets to the Windows faithful, but the mainstream consumer they really want will run screaming.

In 1876, the logo that was trademarked first : ‘The Bass Red Triangle‘.
Lets have a look on some logos and some interesting facts that are attached to them…
Logo of Sun Microsystems

The Logo of Sun Microsystems is one of the world famous ambigrams, You can see ‘Sun’ in all direction in the logo of Sun Microsystems and its formed beautifully.
At the first, it seems like a pattern but when you see carefully that pattern, you can see that is not only pattern but ‘SUN‘ integrated into that.
This beautiful Logo of Sun Microsystems was designed by professor Vaughan Pratt.
Logo of Amazon.com

In the logo of Amazon, that orange colored arrow not only makes a smile but that arrow also connects a and z, it says that you can get ‘ a to z ‘i.e. everything at amazon.com.
